A city with unlimited potential
Representing one of the most densely populated regions in the world, Hong Kong pavilion exemplifies the potentiality of its seven million residents
Named the Pavilion of Infinity, the Hong Kong pavilion for Shanghai World Expo 2010 celebrates the unlimited potential of Hong Kong as a city, and its residents.
The three-storey pavilion represents the physical boundaries of a city, but its transparent materials convey the infinite promise contained within, says chief secretary for administration, Henry Tang.

"The pavilion has a sleek contemporary look to showcase the infinite imagination and creativity of Hong Kong and its people. It will provide visitors with a stunning impression of Hong Kong as a modern, open, free and transparent society."
"As one of the largest vertical cities in the world, Hong Kong has a responsibility to lead by example in providing a green, clean and vibrant urban living environment for our future generations. This is one of the core themes Connected to Nature of the Hong Kong pavilion," says Tang.
The pavilion itself incorporates a number of environmentally sustainable design features including solar panels, a greenroof, air-pollutant absorbing materials and natural thermal management. The other two themes explored through the pavilion are: Connected to the Global Village and Connected by Ideas, Information and Diversity.
