When planning your next bathroom renovation, don’t forget about the humble tap. Yes, it’s easy to get caught up with the latest storage technologies, but the tap is what you’re going to be looking at nearly every time you enter the space.
A note on tap finishes
The finish of your tap will actually set the mood for your entire space, but it’s not something you should choose in isolation.
Finally, don’t be afraid to mix and match metal finishes in your bathroom. For example, using different metals for the sink, tap and handles can help to show off your individual style.
Black is the new ... black
Over the past year, we've seen a lot of designers choosing taps and all the associated accessories in black.
Choosing a black tap for your bathroom is an excellent way of adding a really dark, rich element to the space. Unlike what we said above, however, you’ll often need to pair a black tap with a matching black sink, so keep that in mind when planning.
Black elements also pair well with timber benchtops and cupboards.
The private master ensuite below is finished in dark tones, including accessories such as the heated towel rail and even the toilet. You can see more of this bathroom here.
