With an eye for detail
To enhance the contemporary look of this new kitchen, the designer specified several products from The Laminex Group
Mixing and matching surface materials can create a point of difference for a kitchen the secret lies in knowing what elements work best together.
For this new kitchen, designer Shane George used a combination of materials to reinforce a contemporary theme that would be in keeping with the owners' tastes and preferences.
"The owners already had several items of designer furniture and lighting," he says. "The kitchen needed to continue the clean-lined, uncluttered look evident in the rest of the house."
Sleek, 20mm CaesarStone benchtops in Snow were specified to provide a solid, white work surface. The CaesarStone also wraps around the side of a peninsula, creating a waterfall effect.
"We wanted a very clean, simple benchtop that would complement the drawers, which are painted in Resene Wan White," says George. "CaesarStone Snow not only provides the right look, it is also resistant to staining and very durable."
To enhance the streamlined look, Scilm aluminium Gola Profiles from The Laminex Group were incorporated. These create a negative detailing that helps define the benchtop. They also ensure the kitchen retains a clean, uncluttered look.
"The owners particularly wanted high-quality fittings, so the cabinetry features Grass Nova Pro Full Extension drawer systems from The Laminex Group," says George. "As well as smooth runners, the drawers have a soft-closing mechanism. They also provide a high-quality finish."
Other features in the kitchen include a backlit glass panel that screens the sink area, and patterned wood laminate cabinetry.
