Quality materials reflect upmarket branding in this contemporary boutique
Brand reinforcement is a key driver in the design of store fit-outs. So it stands to reason a high-end boutique will require a similar quality interior. For Hayward Construction, the company contracted for the David Lawrence store fit-out, this was reflected in the types of materials used, and in the attention to detail.
Director Bryce Shirtcliffe says this store, designed by Nadine Hassan of Webster Holdings the David Lawrence parent company features new design concepts that will determine the look of all future David Lawrence stores. Quality materials include the solid timber floor and fixtures, and travertine tile wall panels that enhance a sense of solidity and permanence.
"All the fittings were custom built, right down to the hooks in the changing rooms."
Shirtcliffe says the solid timber entry door posed installation challenges, due to its size and weight.
"The installation involved strengthening the surrounding structure. Similarly, a lot of the other shop fittings, including the wall racks and rear jeans display unit, required consultation with a structural engineer."
Based in Christchurch, Hayward Construction works on projects throughout the country. The company specialises in commercial interior fit-outs and is currently undertaking refurbishment work at the Sudima Hotel in Christchurch.
