A new kitchen is a big investment, so it pays to get it right. NKBA members have the design expertise and product knowledge to put your mind at rest
Planning a new kitchen is seldom straightforward even in a new house. But this doesn't mean you have to compromise your wish list. With the right help, you can have your cake and eat it too.
Members of the National Kitchen & Bathroom Association (NKBA) have the experience and training to find innovative solutions to almost any design challenge, be it a space issue or unusual request.
The association represents 11 different sectors that make up the kitchen and bath industry. From designers and installers to manufacturers, decorative plumbing and hardware people and distributors, the NKBA works to educate the public on the high level of professional experience its members hold. It also works to elevate that professionalism through educational courses and other training opportunities.
Becky Sue Becker, CKD, president of the NKBA Georgia chapter, says that in addition to education, the NKBA promotes professionalism among members by providing certification, networking opportunities and holding its members to a professional Code of Conduct. The association also educates consumers on trends, styles, safety, project planning and picking the right professional for their project.
"Homeowners can rest assured they are dealing with a highly trained and experienced professional. Hiring an NKBA member will also save money in the long run by avoiding costly mistakes. There can be other cost savings as well, with members able to source products at competitive rates."
The expertise of its members is highlighted by the annual NKBA Kitchen and Bathroom Awards. Projects are judged on visual appeal, safety and ergonomics, creativity, and the elements and principals of design and presentation.
The association also provides a free Kitchen & Bath Consumer Workbook. This handy reference guide offers remodeling tips and answers common questions.
