Technology is all around us, typically in the form of cool new gadgets. So it's probably not surprising to see it is also infiltrating that most private of spaces the bathroom.

The products on show at The Kohler Store were not designed simply for the sake of technology, however. Rather, technology has been adapted to improve our well-being by providing an enhanced, fully customized bathing experience.

Lynn Schrage, marketing manager of The Kohler Store, says more and more people are embracing the concept of a full sensory experience.

"People today are often well travelled and familiar with resort spas. Our consultants can help you re-create that experience at home by designing a bathroom with technology that is personalized to suit your needs. For example, your bathroom may feature the new DTV¢ II digital control shower system or the Fountainhead¢ bath with VibrAcoustic¢ technology, which was released at the recent K/BIS show."

Both these products can be fully customized with preset programs. The DTV II combines water, light, music and steam, and the VibrAcoustic technology adds physical vibrations that slow the heart rate to provide a very relaxing bathing experience.

Schrage says customers can see many Kohler products in action at The Kohler Store in the Merchandise Mart, Burr Ridge or Glenview. The Burr Ridge store is next to Kohler Waters Spa, which means you can even experience the different bathing products before you make a decision.
