Graeme Alexander Homes project connects to its setting
Unless buying and selling houses is your calling, you will likely want to do it once and do it exactly right. Taking the time to plan your family home and shopping around to find the experience and know-how required to build it is a vital part of the ideal home equation.
Graeme Alexander Homes creates dramatic homes that underpin an up-and-go family lifestyle and are a pleasure to live in day to day, says owner Graeme Alexander.
"This house presents a good example. The opportunity to acquire a block and build in a natural, oceanfront location with direct access to the beach was a dream come true for the owners. They were so passionate about the possibilities of the site, in fact, that the design was put on hold for many years until the owners could build the home to full potential. Even after all this time, the original concept still stacked up well, with only a few changes required to fit our current thinking."

As the 907m² block has a shared right-of-way to the north, the views were optimised to the southeast, with an elevated living area. The floor plan makes best use of the oddly shaped block, including upstairs a kitchen, living room, master bedroom with ensuite and powder room.
With its simple classic roofline and the use of western red cedar window joinery, Shadowclad facing and rendered brickwork, this residence blends effortlessly into its natural setting
Dual living areas and easy indoor-outdoor flow make this house ideal for family life and entertaining on a large scale, Alexander says.
