Ultraspace wins the 2026 TIDA Australia Designer Bathroom Suite of the Year

Sculptural escape – congratulations to Mark Gacesa of Ultraspace, winner of the 2026 TIDA Australia Designer Bathroom Suite of the Year

From concealed entry to a shower with an opening to the view – watch the slideshow to see more of this award-winning bathroom suite

Designed to emulate a six-star resort experience, this master suite carries through the wider home’s contemporary industrial design language.

The suite experience begins at a hidden entrance – a concealed pivot door integrated into what appears to be a dead-end timber batten wall.

Inside, the bedroom capitalises on its waterway views, balancing raw architectural concrete with warm textures.

Oversized, floor-to-ceiling matte-black scalloped tiles introduce a key visual anchor, which is repeated throughout the suite to wrap the space in a cohesive aesthetic.

To maintain an uninterrupted line, the bedhead is seamlessly integrated into the tiled wall using low-profile rubber and leather.

Behind this tiled wall, a walk-through dressing room sits between the bedroom and ensuite, providing practical storage and a smooth transition between zones.

In the bathroom, a dramatic illuminated feature wall uses the same oversized black scalloped tiles as the bedroom.

Together with a matte black ceiling bulkhead and floor design, this establishes a striking focal point framing the black freestanding bath.

The space behind this wall, accommodates a separate toilet cubicle, and an oversized shower, incorporating a full-length seating ledge, ambient mood lighting, oversized rain shower, hand shower and integrated audio connectivity.

It also contains a strategic opening to the bedroom, allowing occupants to enjoy the water views while showering.

Opposite the tiled wall, a custom Corian vanity with semi-recessed basins and ribbed detailing further reinforces the design language.

The TIDA judges praised the continuity and strong connection achieved throughout the different functional zones.

Congratulations to Mark Gacesa of Ultraspace, winner of the 2026 TIDA Australia Designer Suite of the Year.
