Global awareness of sustainability is making most architects and designers think twice before specifying products and materials. And there is little doubt it is the environmentally friendly options that are generating the most interest.

For CSA Furniture, a focus on sustainability has long been a priority to the extent that the company has established its own semi-autonomous office furniture manufacturing plant in Yatala, Queensland.

Director Craig Salthouse says CSA has always looked to provide a level of service that exceeds customers' expectations, and this extends to its environmental initiatives. The company offers a wide range of products approved by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) and the Australasian Furnishing Research Development Institute (AFRDI).

"Every fit-out requires a different design approach and a different level of specification," says Salthouse. "Having our own manufacturing plant means we can produce customised units for large multi-level developments these can include partition screens, workstations, utility cabinets and loose furniture."

Salthouse says the CSA design team understands the importance of creating the right office environment a congenial, comfortable and ergonomic workplace has a direct bearing on productivity. It can also enhance a company's image.

"Our dedicated design and project management team has many years' experience in this field," he says. "And, as CSA also provides a total front-to-back project management service, clients are kept informed of progress every step of the way."

Salthouse says CSA's trained and certified installation team also embodies the company's ethics of professionalism and courtesy.
