When a brand has a long history, it is safe to say you can rely on its products for a high level of design and manufacture. This is especially true with products made in Germany a country renowned for its superior build quality.

Palazzo Design stocks two brands of kitchens: Rational, which has been in business for 40 years, and Siematic, which has a 60-year history. Both are well-respected German brands, says Palazzo's managing director Ron Neale.

"These products are available in a wide selection of models, with many choices in terms of colour and materials."

Many of these options can be viewed at Palazzo Design's Auckland and Christchurch showrooms.

"These are simply examples our designers will then take a homeowners' chosen model or style and design it specifically for their space," says Neale.

The kitchen pictured on this page is Sigma, from the Rational range. A laminate benchtop and aluminium edging, along with recessed handles, give the design a minimalist look, with a strong horizontal linear emphasis. The cabinetry is finished in a white high-gloss lacquer.
