For a sleek contemporary look, the tower and podium of this building have been clad with Alucobond in panelled curtain wall and fixed cassette systems
Finding the right cladding system for a building is a key element in the design. It impacts not only on the exterior appearance of the building, but also on the speed of construction and therefore on the final costings.
Peddle Thorp Architects approved Alucobond for the cladding on a new tower block recently built in Melbourne for the Australian Property Network.
Alucobond's Silver Metallic cladding on the tower was fixed using a panelled curtain wall system, while White 16 Alucobond was installed on the ground floor and podium by GJN using a fixed cassette system.
Lorenzo Cremasco, project manager for Minesco, who installed the tower cladding, says Alucobond displayed all the qualities required for the project.
"It is lightweight, extremely flat, has a high quality finish and is easy to fabricate," he says.
Alucobond has a smooth surface and is easy to install, making it suitable for suspended, rear-ventilated fae§ades and for cladding roof edges and fascias. It is stable, flexible and weather resistant.
