TIDA AU 2017 – Designer kitchen entrant – Kelli Rieck of K&B Designs | Jackson
Making cooking and food preparation part of the entertainment by bringing the kitchen from corner to centre
Designer: Kelli Rieck of K&B Designs
The kitchen & dining area are elevated 600mm above the lounge room like a stage.
The owners desire was to have an open plan Kitchen that would be enjoyable to cook in and entertain guests from with a sleek and sophisticated finish. That dictated the move to open up the kitchen space from being tucked around a corner to center stage. Cooking and food preparation now become part of the show.
The cabinets are Ultraglaze Metallic Gloss with Phoenix integrated handles. An impressive 3.6metre slab of 30mm thick black granite takes Centre stage with its waterfall ends and led lighting to the recessed niche.
A separate area for washing up along with integrated appliances and a roller shutter to hide the kettle and toaster, the design is minimal and streamlined. The wide drawers and hidden walk-in pantry provide plenty of storage.
The black glass splashbacks reflect the light & water views to lighten up the space.
The warm grey tile floors complement the black & metallic colours while the timber bulkhead and blade walls add warmth and earthiness into the space.
Over the island hangs playful copper pendants and vertical linear niches give a sneak peek to the stairwell beyond.
