Given Hamlet Estates' innovative design, echoing the solid, natural style of Frank Lloyd Wright, stonework was a logical choice of material for both the exterior cladding and interior accent walls. To this end, Picone Energy Systems installed Pro-Fit Ledgestone® from Cultured Stone® on both the exterior and interiors, says director Sal Picone."This low relief, precast stone veneer provides subtle, solid-look siding," says Picone. "The dry-stack product used for this project has the look of a mortarless stacked stone wall."Manufactured in versatile, easily constructed 4in modules, Ledgestone offers the richness of stone with a sleek appearance. It is available in six different colors to coordinate with roofing and other siding selections."The non-traditional use of stone on the rear of these homes reflects a trend towards outdoor living, with the residences being viewed equally from all sides," he says. "The manufactured stonework not only enhances the homes, but also helps to integrate them into the landscape." Closeup view of exterior stone siding. For the interiors, the application of Cultured Stone on accent walls provides a feeling of solidity and warmth, giving a strong aesthetic appeal. As well as Cultured Stone veneer, the company provides marble and mantle surrounds, and prefabricated gas and wood fireplaces, he says."The upscale nature of the community required the use of clean, easy-to-operate fireplaces, and we sourced and installed direct vent and multi-sided fireplaces in the project, says Picone."Made by Heat-N-Glo®, the fireplaces provide an efficient source of warmth, and are a standout interior feature in their own right," he says. "The versatility of the direct vent fireplaces allowed for a multitude of location options within the homes."To further augment the look of the fireplaces, Picone worked closely with the design team at the Holiday Organization, styling each fireplace surround to complement the furnishings.
