A loud, unsightly extraction fan can ruin the peaceful aesthetic in any bathroom. The problem is further compounded if the ventilation system is inefficient as well.

One way to avoid this situation and ensure an atmosphere of calm in your bathroom is to install an iCON extractor fan, available from Architectural Intelligence. The fans have been designed and built to minimise noise while maintaining a high output, says Ganesh Crumlin, sales manager for Architectural Intelligence.

"The fans utilise centrifugal/axial fan flow technology, allowing their design to be highly compact and suitable for ducting."

Fans can be recessed into the wall or ceiling or surface-mounted, and come in three model sizes the 15, 30 and 60 with output power ranging from 21 litres/sec to 72 litres/sec. A patented iris-like shutter closes when switched off, ensuring the fan remains unobtrusive when not in use, while also preventing back drafts and noise. The surrounding flange is easy to clean and comes in a range of colours.

Fan functions can be customised with a range of modules including presence detectors, timers and humidity detectors. The fans are suitable for use in bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and laundries.
