The crowning glory
To accentuate the Mediterranean design aesthetic of this house, it was roofed with Pica clay roof tiles imported from Italy by Natural Roofing Products
The style of a roof contributes significantly to the overall appearance of a house, with colour, texture, profile and finish all combining to create a cohesive look.
However, appearance is only part of the picture. A roof must also be strong enough to protect a house from the elements. Clay tiles, imported from Italian tile manufacturer Industrie Pica, were chosen for this home for both their Mediterranean appearance and their high mechanical strength and frost-resistance.
Natural Roofing Products is the New Zealand agent for Pica tiles, which are available in a variety of colours to harmonise with many different architectural styles.
The company supplies and installs a variety of European-manufactured, premium-quality terracotta clay and quarried roofing slates, and is the New Zealand agent for several other European roofing products, including French-manufactured TBF clay roof tiles, English Sandtoft roof products and Villar del Rey roof slates, quarried in Spain.
