At least part of the sense of comfort and security of a home is provided by its exterior finish. Whatever style of home you choose, the cladding needs to be weather-tight, providing security from the extremes of New Zealand's climate.

The two homes featured on these pages one in a traditional, two-storey villa style, the other a very contemporary design are clad with premium plaster cladding systems offered by Rockcote Systems.

Rockcote's general manager, Mike Olds, says the Rockcote LiteRock System is a composite, cavity-based exterior cladding that is both lightweight and strong. It can be used over a range of substrates, including masonry, cement sheet and polystyrene. The Rockcote LiteRock Solid Render System is BRANZ-appraised to comply with the latest New Zealand Building Code regulations.

"Our plaster cladding systems can only be applied by registered PPCS plasterers, which ensures quality installation and detailing," he says.

Rockcote's systems are available in a variety of textures all with pre-coloured finishing coats. The colours can be selected from the Resene Total Colour System.
