When the owner of this new home came to choose the cladding, his priorities were clear the home had to be easy care and extremely low maintenance.

The materials also had to work with the contemporary architecture designed by Roger Morrison of Morrison Architects a specialist in 3D computer design.

Morrison recommended simple, yet bold materials, including concrete blocks and Palliside uPVC weatherboards in the Traditional profile, and the colour Slate. He says Palliside achieves all the design objectives of weatherboard while being robust and low maintenance.

Palliside features on the upper level of the house, while the lower level combines the strength of concrete blocks with the textured finish of plaster.

The owners say they were impressed with the team from Taylor Superclad, the installers of Palliside, who were meticulous about their work and paid very close attention to the detail and finishing.

Palliside, which is distributed by Dynex Extrusions, never needs painting, is fully recyclable, BRANZ appraised and made for New Zealand conditions. It comes with a 25-year guarantee.
