Taylor Reynolds took home two of the top awards at NABD 2015
Taylor Reynolds won Best Multi-Residential Design up to 6 Dwellings and Best Residential Interior with their Preston Town Houses project at the NABD awards
Sponsored in 2015 by James Hardie, the Association of Building Designers (NABD) Awards highlights the brightest architectural and interior designers in our country. With so much talent on offer, all winners had to offer exceptional projects.
Taylor Reynolds took top place for Best Multi-Residential Design up to 6 Dwellings and for Best Residential Interior with their Preston Town Houses project. For the first award, the judges said that the design vernacular echoes the local streetscape in a modern way through form and fabric.
"The form is comprised of pitched boxes with garages dividing the mass creating a sense of rhythm and articulation."
In the Best Residential Interior Award the judges referred to Taylor Reynolds' pared-back detailing and the use of honest materials which allowed the spaces and volumes to become the focus.
"Prefinished oak boards, concrete and polycarbonate contrast the neutral white walls while the fireplace an off the shelf item was extended in elevation to sit more comfortably within the wall."
NABD has offered a national voice for building designers since 2013. Aims include recognition for the profession, teaching programmes, and development.
