No longer the last rooms to be tackled in a remodeling project, bathrooms today are much more likely to be a focus of attention right from the start. And with good reason bathrooms are increasingly seen as private sanctuaries with the power to restore our equilibrium.

Before planning such a project, however, it pays to talk to the experts at the National Kitchen & Bath Association. The NKBA MidWest chapter can put you in touch with local designers and cabinetmakers who can work with you to ensure your bathroom meets your requirements in terms of both looks and functionality.

Cathy Sparling, CKD, NKBA MidWest president, says NKBA members keep up with current trends by attending professional development courses that raise the bar for kitchen and bath design.

"Members of the NKBA have a wealth of experience in finding solutions to specific design challenges. Your bathroom may be an awkward shape, for example, or it may be small. NKBA designers will ensure nothing is overlooked in respect to its functionality. They can also source products and materials at competitive rates, which means there are financial benefits as well."
