Taking care
A five-step design and construction process assures all clients of Oppidan Homes complete peace of mind
Shelter is one of humanity's basic needs, but for most of us, our home means much more than simply protection from the weather. It is a place where our family grows, and where memories are formed and stored.
A company in the business of building homes will always respect this fundamental essence. Oppidan Homes follows a five-step design and construction process to ensure its clients are happy with the end result, says director Steven Gild.
"In the creation of the home pictured here, we were able to fulfil the brief as well as build a good relationship with our clients during the process. We subsequently received a glowing reference from the homeowners, stating their intention to use us again if they were to build in the future."
Oppidan's process begins with a free consultation on site. Then, once the client decides to proceed with the company, the designers will prepare sketch plans in the form of a 3-D presentation, including cost estimates.
"It is easy to make a decision to move forward to council DA plans once you are happy with the design and estimate," says Gild. "We then advance to the next step, preparing the documents for council submission and monitoring the progress on a weekly basis until they have been approved."
After approval, Oppidan first prepares the contract documentation, then moves to the construction stage. This is managed by construction director Gavin Cohen, who has thirty years' experience in building residential homes efficiently and to a high standard of finish.
Oppidan co-ordinates with all associated consultants in the construction process, such as interior decorators, landscapers and pool contractors.
