From small meeting to large conference the Confair table system from Wilkhahn adapts to any need
Sustainability is quickly becoming the catch cry of the third millennium and as such, businesses are looking at ways of reducing their impact on the environment. Optimising space is one option, with products that offer multiple uses or adaptability coming to the fore.
When Deloitte was setting up its new offices, maximising boardroom space was a main focus. Having a room that could function equally well as one or more meeting areas through to a full conference facility, meant finding products that would accommodate every need, says project manager Louise Franklin of Wilkhahn Asia Pacific Auckland showroom.
"Deloitte was looking for conference tables with the flexibility to be used for either small or large meetings in an informal or formal capacity. Wilkhahn specified the Confair table system as the ideal solution to Deloitte's needs. Confair is a folding table that stands flat against a wall when not in use, can be easily configured to any size thanks to the innovative connectors and is easily set up and put away by one person."
Each table is custom made, with sizes ranging from 800 x 1600mm up to 1200 x 3000mm. A range of materials can be used for the table tops, with the tables for the Deloitte Centre specially matched to existing cabinetry.
"A range of standard finishes is available for the table tops, which are manufactured in our facility in Australia," says Franklin. "Of course, because each table is custom made, it can be matched to any decor."
Added functionality can be built in to the tables in the form of a flip-top cable management system. Power, data and AV cables can be seamlessly integrated into the tables, further enhancing their flexibility. German componentry means the folding mechanism works smoothly every time and each Confair table carries a 5-year manufacturer's warranty on its mechanical components.
As well as their ability to suit any office environment, Confair tables come with the necessary Green credentials.
"Confair folding tables have been awarded the Good Environmental Choice Australia Ecolabel, which indicates the environmental performance of a product from a whole-of-life perspective," says Franklin. "As a result, when Confair folding tables are being Green Star assessed as part of the overall office environment, they can be classified as Environmentally Innovative'. This means Confair tables will achieve a product score of 100% particularly relevant in today's environmentally conscious world."
