NME Electrical welcomed the chance to do just that when the Wellington company was awarded the electrical contract for the Supreme Court project.NME director Kevin Melville says the project features a building automation and control system that is a combination of local control and a fully automated Dali Lighting Control System. This controls lighting levels according to lux requirements and proximity, and is designed to provide maximum energy efficiencies. Introducing the latest, most advanced technology into a heritage refit created many challenges for NME. The retro-fit and installation of light fittings into the Old High Court building, for example, meant providing state-of-the-art building management systems and controls within a heritage-style aesthetic. NME worked through all these factors, with the support of the main contractor, Mainzeal Construction, and the specification expertise of Norman, Disney & Young, the building services engineering consultant.NME is one of Wellington's larger electrical contractors, with a highly skilled staff base specialising in the commercial contracting market sector.
