Stutex Stone has a natural appeal
Stutex Stone presents a versatile design material
The introduction of stone feature surfaces on your home project will bring an air of longevity and strength. However, if you require a lighter solution, a similar cladding option will bring greater architectural freedom.
On this Waikato homestead, a combination of Kiwi Schist from the Stutex Stone Cerastone range and cedar and plaster cladding creates a sense of solidity and permanence. The house, designed by Aesthetics Architecture and built by Karl Kampenhout Builders, features Kiwi Schist chimneys, walls and columns, says the director of Stutex Stone, Dora Leonard.
For this project, Kiwi Schist was specified in the colourway Cental Otago to complement the style of the house and rich cedar cladding.
"Easy and quick to install, Cerastone is our most popular product by far," Leonard says. "The cast-stone veneer weighs far less than ordinary stone and is more cost effective two major pluses for architects and designers."
Cerastone also achieves the appeal of stone in places where expensive architectural support might be needed to introduce weighty, quarried stone, such as on a cantilevered feature facade.
"Moulded from casts taken from quarriedstone, Cerastone is hard to tell from the original thing even when seen up close and is offered in a range that includes everything from Drift Stone to Ledge Stone," says Leonard. "This versatile, affordable cladding suits a variety of house styles and boasts a 30-year guarantee."
