With the apartments designed to create a solid and individual impression, Sunland specified Merbau hardwood timber for many of the interior floors.

Sunland has worked with Dynamic Timber Floors on previous projects, and asked that they supply and install flooring for several of the Newstead Terrace apartments, says manager Phillip Cutts.

"The developers chose pre-finished flooring as it is easily installed, with a low-maintenance finish," says Cutts. "The floors were glued directly onto the building's base structure for added strength and to avoid the hollow sound of a floating floor."

The company's pre-treated flooring has eight coats of polyurethane for a lasting, reliable finish and is backed by a 25-year coating warranty.
