As the annual showcase for trends in landscape design, the Ellerslie Flower Show presents many innovative ideas for both homeowners and landscape designers. The last show was no exception. One garden creating a lot of interest was the SensibiliTea VIP Garden for Vision Impaired People, designed by Merv and Cheryl Cox, and Peter Kundycki. A viewof some paving. The garden features a simple layout with a clear distinction between light and dark elements. Jagas pavers in a mix of colours and styles were specified to reinforce this theme. The main paved area features 450 x 450mm Snowstone pavers, with lines of 300 x 300mm Charcoal pavers providing a strong colour contrast. A raised patio is separated from the paving by a narrow strip of camomile lawn. To provide further definition for the visually impaired, the patio is edged with Caramel bullnose pavers. A change of colour on the patio also demarcates this space, which features 600 x 600mm Akarana pavers. A viewof some paving. Jagas pavers have the appearance, weathering properties and colour variation of natural stone. They incorporate a 12mm topping mix, which helps ensure colours don't fade. For details, contact Jagas Paving, 69 Kerwyn Ave, East Tamaki, phone (09) 274 1077.
