In order to create a nuanced interior design, it is important that a designer has products to work with that offer infinite adaptability in ways that the rest of us wouldn't even give a second thought to.

Take the design and manufacture of surfaces, for example. We come into contact with a huge variety of surfaces in our daily lives and depend on them in all sorts of ways, yet we seldom notice their impact. All that is about to change with the latest offerings from Wilsonart, says Yellowfox design manager Shelley Brockliss.

"As a designer, it is great to see innovative new products that use technology to incorporate a design aesthetic that actively engages the senses. One of the stand-out examples of this were the Wilsonart surfaces on display on the Lincoln Group stand at designEX 2011 in Melbourne, and soon to be available through Parbury in New Zealand.

"They've really stepped up a gear, showcasing vibrant textures and patterns in surfaces suitable for both the residential and commercial markets."

Part of Wilsonart's Global Design Collection, the ranges on show at designEX feature interpretations of natural and manufactured elements expressed in dynamic textures and designs, and augmented with metallics and an expansive colour range.

"The Global Spirit range, in particular, celebrates the senses with an emphasis on tactile and visual texture, while maintaining the high-performance, easy-care quality usually associated with Wilsonart products," says Brockliss.
