Every new home owner has a particular idea in their mind sometimes clearly formed, and in other cases less certain about how the new house should look. The skill of the architect is to draw out that information, then create a house that meets the client's needs and expectations.
This home, in a new private development, is by a large lake. The owners wanted it to have a sense of permanence and look as if it had been there for a hundred years, with materials and colors chosen to mimic the owner's childhood home. The project was initiated by Charlie Simmons when he was with TEA2 Architects and his involvement continued with Swan + Simmons.
