Panelling features Russian birch and European maple

The professional, yet relaxed nature of the interior design extends to the bank's sixteenth floor, where UBS's 23 client meeting rooms are located. Each of the rooms features a slightly different design, with varying colours and materials, but all linked visually with the extensive use of pale wood panelling.
The result is a clean, contemporary look that is also warm and inviting, says David Civardi of Civardi Furniture. Russian birch veneer and solid European maple were used for the panelling, all of which was constructed off site at the company's factory using CAD-CAM technology. The panels were installed using a split batten system, which will allow the panels to be easily removed in the future. The company also constructed doors and credenzas for each meeting room, each one slightly different from the other.

"The job for UBS level 16 was complicated, because of the level of detail, its integration with other trades, and the short timeframe available to complete the work," says Civardi. "We achieved our goals because we do all our prefabrication work in-house, which allows us to maintain quality and time standards. We also have extensive experience some of our staff have 30 to 40 years' experience in custom joinery."
A reception desk of burgundy stitched leather, glass and chocolate-brown wenge veneer was also custom-made by Civardi Furniture for the project.
