If you've always wanted an attractive pool landscape, but considered your site too small, it may be time to think again. As this project illustrates, it is possible to have a pool built on a challenging site.

The owners commissioned a pool from Mayfair Pools, which was built by Designer Pools in Auckland. Director Richard Rowley says the project presented a challenge for the company, as the pool occupies most of the free land. However, with good design and attractive landscaping, the final result was a complete transformation, he says.

"As the living areas of the home overlook the pool and a wall opposite, the owners wanted an additional eye-catchingfeature. A sculptural water feature a collection of upright eel shapes was built alongside the pool."
