Single-level convenience
All your plates, pots, cups and glasses are easily loaded and unloaded with Smeg's new fully integrated 90cm-wide Horizon dishwasher
The most worthwhile innovations are those that improve the convenience, ergonomics and ease of use of a particular appliance or piece of equipment.
The latest development from Smeg is its new horizontal dishwasher. Measuring 90cm wide and 58cm deep, the Horizon STH905 can be integrated directly below the benchtop or positioned at chest-height in a wall column.
Not only does this new dishwasher offer ergonomic advantages there's no need to bend when loading or unloading the dishes but it has the same capacity as most conventional 60cm units.
The Horizon works like a standard dishwasher with a door that folds down, making it quick and easy to slide out the stainless steel basket and access your dishes. The dishwasher is deep enough to hold 31cm-diameter dinner plates, and six collapsible dish racks offer plenty of versatility for accommodating large or awkwardly shaped pots, platters and oven trays. Glasses are held safely in racks along the side and front of the main basket.
With 10 wash programmes and five wash temperatures, the Horizon caters for all wash loads, from delicate glassware to saucepans. A differentiated wash programme allows you to wash pots on one side and plates on the other. Other features of the Horizon include a turbidity sensor, which senses if a pre-wash is needed, and a delay timer.
Electronic controls are concealed in the top edge of the door, and two halogen lights illuminate the inside of the cavity. Twin orbital wash and twin ceiling arms ensure the entire contents are thoroughly washed and rinsed. The Horizon comes with a two-year, in-home warranty on parts and labour.
