Show and tell Life At Home street of houses
Life At Home street of open homes
Visiting open homes is always a great way to get ideas for your own new home or renovation project. Now, a new street of homes in Karaka has expanded on this idea, to bring you something different.
Life At Home is a new initiative that takes its cue from both traditional home shows and open homes. The street features eight houses designed by five separate architects and designers, and built by eight registered Master Builders. Every house is different, but it is not just the architecture that sets the street apart, says Life At Home director Kim Ellett.
"Life At Home provides information about all the products and services on display," he says. "Every visitor to the street is given their own barcode identity and online Watch List. Our show home staff scan every item you are interested in with a barcode scanner and information is instantly uploaded to your Watch List, which you can later access on our website.
"This could be information about the roofing, paving, balustrades, carpets , wall linings or appliances anything in the house. It can include prices, availability, dimensions and key selling points. You can even request calls and updates from specific suppliers."
Ellett says the $10 million Life At Home street will remain open for at least a year. It can be viewed at Lombardia Way, Karaka Harbourside Estate, South Auckland, phone (09) 296 1130. Or visit the website for more details: www.lifeathome.co.nz.
