Polished concrete can be specified for both interior and exterior use, providing visual interest and a hard-wearing option for both zones
Finding ways to enhance a home's indoor-outdoor flow is a prime requirement for many renovation projects. One option chosen by architects and homeowners is to use materials, such as solid concrete flooring, that can be carried through from one zone to another.
It is a solution that is becoming increasingly popular, says Jason Torbet, owner of Polished Concrete.
"Concrete floors can enhance and add value to homes, both inside and out," he says. "Concrete is a hard-wearing option, and by mixing it with other materials such as stones, pebbles, glass and marble we can create a variety of design effects."
The company can also add different coatings, increasing the design possibilities further. In the case of pool areas, for example, a non-slip honed finish would be a suitable choice.
The company works with architects and designers to find the best option for each project, and then manages the installation and polishing process.
Polished Concrete has more than 10 years' experience polishing concrete floors in private homes and commercial buildings.
