Sense of direction
Architectural detailing reinforces the identity of this new PlaceMakers store and defines services for trade professionals and DIY clients
The vast size of the new PlaceMakers store in Riccarton ensures the roof is a dominant feature. Not surprisingly, a project of this magnitude needs a roofing material with a large spanning capability and wide cover.
Dimond Topspan in Zincalume was specified to meet these criteria. Dimond products were also used elsewhere in the building, says marketing communications manager Scott Townsend.
"Dimond Brownbuilt 900 in PlaceMakers Blue was used for the wall cladding on the main feature wall because of its aesthetic appeal," he says. "The custom colour and the interesting profile ensured the facility would be bold and eye-catching. The building was further enhanced by a second feature wall in Dimond Styleline in Metallic Silver and Dimond Corrugate on interior walls."
The large scale of the project also determined the need for a reliable and professional installer a job undertaken by Graham Hill Roofing, a Dimond Certified Commercial Installer (DCCI).
