Sculpted in stone

A strong presence and timeless good looks are intrinsic to hand-carved stone mantles from The Natural Stone Fireplace Company

Stone adapts to all architectural styles. It looks as good featured in a classic setting as it does in a contemporary room.

A stone mantle commissioned from The Natural Stone Fireplace Company will add a sense of permanence, says owner Mark Whyman. A classically trained stonemason, Whyman works closely with clients to ensure they get the right look. Each hand-carved fireplace mantle the company installs is one of a kind.

"The choice of stone and design is entirely up to you. We can create all styles and periods from French Provincial to modern contemporary, using European and New Zealand stone," Whyman says.

"Often clients bring in a photograph of something they like and I can make it for them. Or they can choose a style from my extensive portfolio."

Whyman, who has more than 30 years' experience, says his range extends beyond fireplace mantles. The Natural Stone Fireplace Company can craft and install carved stone doorways, outdoor fireplaces and architectural features for inside or outside.
