As a significant financial investment, your new home has to derive maximum benefit from its site and suit your family's needs with equal precision. The right builder-developer will have the industry connections, resources and experience to ensure you get the best possible outcome.

Pace Prestige Homes developed and built this contemporary four-bedroom residence in the upmarket Melbourne Bayside suburb of Hampton. The Prestige homebuilder forms part of the larger Pace Development Group, which provides it with access to a wide range of design expertise.

The generous-sized family home was designed for Pace Prestige Homes by Saaj Design, with a complementary natural garden by Chelsea Flower Show Silver Gilt-winner Cycas Landscape.

This house responds adroitly to its suburban situation and to specific client design prerequisites, says architect Andrew Anderson of Saaj Design.

"The building's highly sculptural form is partly a response to Bayside City Council's bylaws for greater boundary setbacks," says Anderson. "In addition, the intersecting three-dimensional forms maximise daylight penetration contributing to the home's 5-star energy rating."

Pace Prestige Homes' general manager Ken Adams says the client wanted the kitchen to have views to and through all living rooms. This was to ensure it became the central point of the home's public entertaining spaces.

"The sight and sound of cascading water from the swiming pool, an outdoor fireplace, and the private spa nestled behind the elliptical walls of the main bedroom are just some of the architectural features of the home," Adams says.
