Some days there just never seems to be enough space in the kitchen especially when you're cooking for a crowd.

In this kitchen, designed by Degabriele Kitchens, the Smeg microwave oven has been installed below the bench top to give the cook more bench space.

Other space-saving features in the kitchen include a corner walk-in pantry and deep, wide drawers.

Limited wall space has been used to good effect by installing the Smeg canopy rangehood between the windows.

The designer says stainless steel Smeg appliances were chosen for their clean design. They also complement the Gunmetal Grey Laminex cabinetry and Nova Aurora quartz stone benchtops by CaesarStone.

The design influence of architect Guido Canali can be seen in the rolled edges and corners of the Smeg SA9066X freestanding cooker. Designed to cater to a large family, the 108-litre electric oven will fit a 14kg roast and 12kg of vegetables.With its special Baker's selection function, this cooker is also ideal for pizzas and lasagne.

The six gas burners on the cooktop include a triple crown burner, which is ideally positioned for a large wok, frying pan, stockpot or boiler the pot or pan won't overhang the side of the cooker.

The hand-made K39 stainless steel canopy rangehood is 90cm wide and comes with a removable curved utensil rail and twin halogen lights. Four extraction speeds ensure the rangehood can cope with high levels of steam and heat.

A stainless steel trim kit has been used for the Smeg SA31MX microwave oven in the kitchen. This kit helps to visually integrate the microwave with the main oven. A series of slots on the fae§ade allow discreet air venting, which is essential for the efficient performance of the microwave.
