The impact created by a house is the sum of many small and seemingly insignificant details. Features such as exterior and internal finishes, window shape and balustrades all add to the overall impression.

In the imposing two-storey Landmark Homes show home shown on these pages, artfully executed rustic elements such as wrought iron balustrades and stairwell handrails with hand-forged and hand-painted details, arched windows and cedar shutters create a classic French provincial feel.

From the long driveway lined with conifers and the ornamental hedges in the garden to the double-height entrance foyer with shuttered panels and arched windows, this spacious family home has been designed to have instant appeal. Living areas are located on the ground floor, and upstairs in the 266m² home are three bedrooms and the main bathroom.

Inside, the floor plan is well suited to contemporary living. Rooms are laid out to maximise sunlight, and a covered terrace opens off the informal and formal living areas, offering flexibility between indoor and outdoor spaces.

For relaxed living, the house has a large, open-plan kitchen and dining space, which leads to a separate lounge for more formal occasions. Both areas have a lofty, open feel, and are well appointed with all the home comforts, including gas fires, surround sound and entertainment systems.

Cabinetry in the kitchen has a provincial flavour, with framed panels, two-pack lacquered, fluted posts and a double colonial cornice for extra detail. Mitred CaesarStone benchtops and French-inspired door and drawer handles add to the feeling of European simplicity. Concealed behind a cavity slider in the kitchen is a walk-in scullery containing a deep, practical sink, a wine fridge, storage for platters and other awkward items, and a long preparation area.
