Kitchen designer Glen Johns selected a stone-look benchtop teamed with fresh, white cabinetry and stainless steel and glass-fronted appliances from Smeg's modern Linear range.
A Smeg steam oven in the kitchen appliance lineup gives the option of producing healthy meals easily. Steam cooking, which dates back to ancient China, has long been recognised as a simple, healthy cooking method. Food absorbs only the moisture it requires, so there is no overcooking, and minimal loss of vitamins, nutrients, flavour and texture. Plus, steamed food doesn't need oil or fat in the cooking process.
The 45cm-high steam oven from Smeg's modern and technologically intuitive Linear range of kitchen appliances features a frameless, fingerprint-resistant, stainless steel and glass face with backlit polycarbonate controls.
This steam oven has six functions manual steaming, steaming for vegetables, meat and fish, reheating and sterilising, and defrosting. Preset recipe times remove the guesswork, or functions can be manually programmed. With reheating, precooked foods can be warmed without loss of texture or flavour.
Teamed with the steam oven are a stainless steel multifunction half oven and a microwave convection half oven, both from Smeg's Linear range. Rear illuminated symbols and LED displays are part of the contemporary look.
