The colour chosen was Peter Fell colour number 155. The grey-brown shade of the concrete picks up on hues in the schist used on the building's exterior.

The simple style of the concrete, a relaxed square pattern, provides a contrast to the materials on the exterior.

Sealed with a textured, non-slip sealant, the surface is durable and long-wearing. Because the colour is an integral part of the concrete, it won't chip off or wear away, even in high-traffic areas.
