Rieck Building Design wins 2022 TIDA Australia Designer Bathroom of the Year
Congratulations to Rieck Building Design, winner of the 2022 TIDA Australia Designer Bathroom of the Year with a renovated ensuite that's inviting, relaxed and highly functional
The owners of this home wanted to update their existing, tired ensuite with a new luxurious layout, using modern materials in a classic black, white and grey palette.
The design was to be clean and crisp, provide plenty of storage, and allow for future accessibility.
The main challenge for the renovation was that the existing ensuite was on a suspended concrete slab. So the designer had to work within the original space and retain the external windows and doors.
A small change to the entrance of the bedroom allowed for better connection to the ensuite and walk-in-robe.
A custom wall-hung, double vanity occupies the ensuite’s prime position, with its striking black timber veneer highlighting the dark vein in the Quartz benchtop.
Ample storage space is provided by the numerous vanity drawers and the mirrored cabinets above.
The vanity blade wall conceals a large walk-in rain shower on one side, with the toilet having privacy on the opposite side.
At the end of the room, a freestanding bath beneath the windows takes in the wide ocean views beyond.
The TIDA judges noted the vast difference the designer had made to the existing space, producing an ensuite that was inviting, relaxed and highly functional.
Congratulations to Kelii Rieck of Rieck Building Design, winner of the 2022 TIDA Australia Designer Bathroom of the Year.
