Ribbon of flame
A contemporary European-style gas fire takes centre stage in this new show home

No matter how great the view through the windows, every house also needs an interior focus.
For the new David Reid Homes show home in Orewa, the focal point of the open-plan living area is a dramatic tiled accent wall featuring a Gazco Studio 3 balanced-flue gas fire from The Fireplace.
Graeme Doughty, general manager of The Fireplace, says the design team wanted a fire that would complement the clean-lined look of the show home.

"The Studio fire is designed for such interiors," he says. "It also reflects the current trends coming out of Europe, which favour streamlined, horizontal fireplaces."
Doughty says the sleek, hole-in-the-wall design is enhanced by the single, modulating ribbon of flame that dances above a bed of white stones.
"This Studio 3 fire has a lot of visual appeal it also creates a very warm, inviting interior."

The Fireplace distributes an extensive range of contemporary and traditional fires from leading manufacturers around the world. The company's consultants can work with designers and homeowners to determine the best choice for any project.
A wide range of fires can be seen at The Fireplace showrooms in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. For further information, contact The Fireplace, phone 0800 843 347. Email: sales@fireplace.co.nz, or visit the website: www.thefireplace.co.nz.
