Repeat interest

Often the highest form of praise is simply repeat business. If a client's new head office is well-received by staff and visitors alike, it would make sense to bring in the same architects and fit-out specialists when planning a satellite office to the same standards.

This was the case, when recent clients of Walker Interiors, part of Walker Architects, and Amstar Interiors wanted to expand their office space to an adjacent building.

Interior designer Georgia Webb, of Walker Interiors, explains Amstar's role in the creation of the new satellite office.

"The client required the same quality of materials and finish for the new space as achieved for the original offices," she says. "To this end, Amstar was again brought on board as the main contractor and it also co-ordinated all sub-contractors."

The use of a variety of materials, including stone, timber and leather, meant that much of the work was highly detailed. Specialised lighting and acoustic requirements added to the fit-out's complexity.

"Any issues that inevitably arose during construction were dealt with swiftly and professionally by Amstar," says Webb. "Both the client and ourselves are delighted with the final result."
