Reducing space, not quality, with a transportable weatherboard home
Waste, costs and space - the more you can reduce in today’s world, the better! This maxim is also true in building design with ‘tiny homes’ no longer perceived of as just for eccentrics!
Add great building materials, clever design and low maintenance to the ability to transport and relocate your home - and you’ve got the ultimate in compact living!
Ticking all these boxes is a new line designed and custom built by David Wraight Cottages. These homes are clad entirely with the Envira Weatherboard System to have all the character of a traditional cottage with more warmth and less maintenance.
Size-wise David Wraight’s transportable homes are actually far from tiny at approximately 104 sq. metres. It’s the structure and clever design that makes them completely compact, ready to be trucked from their Marborough building yard to buyers throughout New Zealand.
The houses include the timber period features the company is known for, including Envira rusticated weatherboards which fit perfectly to the look and quality of the buildings. These weatherboards have been installed using matching pre-cut scribers to ensure a straight, evenly spaced and weathertight finish.
David Wraight uses many components from the Envira system including timber window facings and sills, which not only look great but also provide the benefits and aesthetics that only a natural product can.
The addition of Envira boxed corners not only adds to the building style but its watertightness, too.
Continuing on the timber theme, Niagara can provide superior quality veranda posts and laminated beams for a look and feel to last for generations.
So as more people decide to downsize and simplify their living spaces, choosing a David Wraight transportable home only means a reduction in size - not in quality.
