Raising standards
With ongoing education opportunities, members of the Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia can keep up with the latest trends
One of the most effective ways to expand knowledge of products and to improve the level of skill among designers is through regular contact with colleagues and associates.
This can be achieved by joining a professional body like the Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia (KBDI). Opportunities for ongoing interaction with each other and regular updates on the latest systems, products and technologies are some of the advantages of KBDI membership.
Members, who range from students to highly experienced designers, are all able to take advantage of specialist training and continuing professional development through seminars and meetings.
Certified Kitchen Designer (AU) and Certified Bathroom Designer (AU) Elizabeth Luke, a KBDI founding member, says advantages such as these make membership valuable.
"Ongoing interaction with like-minded people means I can keep up to date with the latest systems, products and technologies, and with the particular needs of our discipline," she says.
In addition, the Institute's accreditation process ensures members attain and maintain high standards of workmanship. Only those members who meet the KBDI's strict criteria are eligible to be known as Certified Kitchen Designers (CKD) or Certified Bathroom Designers (CBD).
For information or details of your local chapter, contact the KBDI, phone 1300 253 223. Email: enquiries@kbdi.org.au. Website: www.kbdi.org.au.
