Kone high-tech elevator solutions for ANZ Centre
A comprehensive revamp of the ANZ Centre by architects Warren and Mahoney encouraged lead tenant ANZ Bank to retain its presence there. The company required a high-performance working environment that would include new plant and infrastructure to service the refurbished floors. As part of the project's focus on sustainability, a destination-controlled elevator system was supplied and installed by Kone, a global leader in the provision of elevator and escalator solutions.
This contemporary fit-out at the ANZ Centre allowed Kone to showcase its very latest lift technologies, says Kone sales manager Terry Viccars.
"The control system uses advanced artificial intelligence, genetic algorithms and fuzzy logic to learn traffic patterns in a building to predict passenger demand and continually adjust call assignment accordingly. In addition, the lifts assigned to ANZ staff and visitors have a higher level of security and convenience, through integrated turnstile technology that recognises authorised personnel, then allocates a lift and selects the appropriate floor at the swipe of a card. There's no longer any need to press lift buttons."
The ANZ Centre was tenanted throughout the project and Kone's control overlay allowed its new technology to talk to older equipment from another firm, keeping the building moving during the renovation.
