raised expectations
Eight elevators were required for passenger and service use Schindler Lifts provided a commercial-level response

Every aspect of the stadium was specified to an optimum standard, and the elevators were no exception. Schindler Lifts NZ was asked to supply and install six large-capacity passenger or passenger/service lifts for the east and west cores of the main South Stand. In addition, lifts were supplied and installed for the new east stand and the redeveloped west stand a total of eight in all. The elevators range in capacity from 2000kg to 3500kg or 46 people.
Each core group of lifts in the South Stand was required to have two modes of operation Game Day and Non-Game Day. These are controlled remotely by the Building Management System. On activation of the Game Day signal the passenger lifts work as duplex pairs and respond to landing calls from the public lobby area. The goods lift operates as a single lift answering landing calls from the service lobby area. On the Non-Game Day signal the dual-entry passenger lifts work as duplex pairs with the service lift, answering landing calls only from the service lobby. The single-entry passenger lift operates individually, answering calls from the public lobby.

All eight elevators installed at the Eden Park venue are the Schindler model 2600 an extremely robust lift manufactured in Europe based on pre-assembled components. This is a fully customisable range often used in industrial applications and allowing flexible car sizes with load capacities ranging up to 6300kg.
