"A double layer of PVC provides protection against sharp rain and strong winds, while an internal polyester layer blocks sunlight and UV radiation," says de Hoon. "The awnings are designed to form an effective and attractive cover for areas up to 13m x 8m."

The various Aalta configurations can be installed flat, tilted on self-standing frames or fixed to building facades. All systems come with a rugged Italian motor and high-end remote control, which together mean the awnings can be retracted or projected in 30 seconds.
