Much of the style of a home is a result of the shape, size and design of its glazing. Large, open panes of glass are used to create a contemporary look, while smaller or mullioned windows give a home a more traditional flavour. With an engineering background, Guy Shallard, the designer and co-owner of the contemporary home featured here, saw the possibilities of suspending the living area within a bold bridge element. View of a home which features aluminium joinery which was designed by Aluminium Systems and manufactured by Ellison's Aluminium. This created huge windows that made the most of the views, provided privacy for the living spaces and introduced a large amount of natural light.Using Aluminium Systems-designed residential products, Ellison's Aluminium manufactured the custom-designed joinery for these large windows, as well as the remainder of the joinery for the house. The triangular, fixed window panes in the central bridge area are all double glazed and fitted into steel using aluminium channels and flashings.
