In any industrial setting, safety is paramount, especially in terms of prevention. It is, therefore, imperative that as many safety measures as possible are built into a project.

Fire prevention is one of the biggest safety issues for any company, which is why Beca, project manager for the new Lion Nathan brewery, worked closely with Kingspan Insulated Panels to ensure the new facilities exceeded all expectations in that regard, says Paul Metcalfe, general manager of Kingspan Insulated Panels.

"Kingspan, alongside Beca, worked with Lion Nathan from an early stage to provide project specific details at the design phase, as well as later providing support to Onsite Solutions, Mainzeal's subcontractor."

Kingspan was the supplier of both external and internal panels for the project, supplying products from its Architectural and Coolstore ranges.

"The requirement from Lion Nathan was for insulated panels that were fire-resistant, and our poly-isocyanurate, or PIR, panels ticked all boxes. With insurance companies demanding fire-resistant panels in the New Zealand marketplace, our FM Global-approved panels are rapidly becoming the panel of choice," says Metcalfe.
