Glazing is a popular and effective way of letting light into our homes. But in the bathroom, where privacy is an important consideration, it may not always be the most practical option.

One solution is to use glass blocks, says Gary Walden of Eurobrik. The company's blocks range from completely clear to completely opaque so you can achieve the exact level of privacy you require.

A choice of patterns, sizes and colours is available to complement any decor, as well as capping blocks and variable-angle corner blocks.

With the patterns on the inner surface of the block, the smooth exterior is easy to keep clean. Their hollow structure provides excellent insulation, similar to that of double glazing, says Walden.

"Glass blocks are also very strong, making them safe to use for full-height bathroom walls," he says.

Established in 1989, Eurobrik also specialises in the installation of glass blocks. This means that clients can deal with just one company from start to finish.
